<p>Every jar of Shah Foods carries a story that begins long before our first spice blend, with a man who believed that no one should ever go hungry.</p><h2>In memory of Labh Dhaliwal</h2><p>Our mission is a tribute to Labh Dhaliwal, from the pind (village) of Gobindgarh in Punjab. He was a Granthi, a custodian and reader of the Guru Granth Sahib, and he devoted his life to seva, the practice of selfless service. Nowhere did that spirit live more fully than in langar, the free community kitchen that feeds everyone who comes, no exceptions and no questions asked.</p><p>Labh Dhaliwal was the father of Swarnjit Shah, one of the founders of Shah Foods. The values he lived by, humility, generosity, and feeding people as an act of love, are the same values our family carries forward today.</p><h2>Feeding people, still</h2><p>Shah Foods grew out of our family's kitchen at GM Restaurant in Maple Ridge, BC, where cooking for our community has always been who we are. Continuing Labh Dhaliwal's spirit of seva and langar is how we honour him, by making sure that when you share a meal made with our blends, you help someone else share one too.</p><p>Every 2 units sold helps provide a meal through BC food banks and gurdwara langar.</p><p>Thank you for being part of this.
