Tandoori Chicken Seasoning


  • Famous for having been an unintentionally well kept secret from the British, when the Tandoori spice mix was 'discovered', it instantly became a favourite. A well known prime minister of India was so in awe of the mix, he invited several of the worlds most powerful people to try it including John F Kennedy! The blend of herbs, bright color and incredible effect on any dish it becomes part of gave it instant fame and recognition.

    Spice Level: Mild ( All our spice mixes come mild. If you would like to make it spicier, we recommend adding fresh chillies when preparing. The truly authentic is to use green and red chillies, but we've had some fantastic feedback with habaneros, jalapeños and tons more. Try changing things up, and remember how you add is up to you, but we recommend slowly adding more as you get more comfortable with spicier foods).

  • What You Need:

    1 tbsp vegetable oil

    1 tbsp lemon juice

    1/2 cup of plain yogurt

    1 kg raw chicken legs and thighs

    Spice Ingredients

    Brown sugar, herbs and spices, salt, chickpea flour, red colour, citric acid

    Épices et herbes, sucre, sel, farine de pois chiches, couleur rouge, acide citrique

  • Preparation

    Mix oil, lemon juice, yogurt and seasoning* together in a large bowl.

    Add chicken and marinate in fridge for 6–12 hours.

    Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Add chicken and bake for 45 minutes.

    Tandoori Chicken is also great on the BBQ. Give it a try!

    Prep time: Excluding the time it takes to refrigerate marinated meat, 45 minutes should do it.

    If you plan to BBQ it, we recommend you make sure the meat is thoroghly cooked and take all safety measures you can for a clean, well done meal.
